According to Bloomberg, CEZ’s CEO Martin Roman expressed interest to build a nuclear unit in Slovakia. Our view: Information that Slovak government plans to build another nuclear unit in addition to one that Enel is expected to build in Mochovce occurred already in early April and there were speculations that CEZ will be one of the interested parties besides E.ON or Enel, that already expressed their interest. As a result we see the news as trading neutral. Note that new nuclear unit should be in Trebisov or in Jaslovske Bohunice area, which is favorable for such a construction as there is an existing infrastructure after closed down unit and will make the investment cheaper. Market speculates about 600 MW of installed capacity and cost of EUR 1.2bn. The possible start of construction is expected in 2010.
