Retail sales increased by 7.3% y/y in August, which is slightly above our estimate. In comparison with July, when revenues increased by 8.9%, it is a slow-down. This was caused by fewer working days in the month and also by less growth in non-food product sales. We should also mention the slowdown in the growth rate of car sales. Retail continues at a nice pace being supported by the rising wages and falling unemployment. We expect to see an overall growth for the year of 8% in retail sales for 2007.
