The state budget remained in surplus again at the end of October. Revenues reached CZK 835.4bn from the beginning of the year while expenses were running at CZK 808.2bn. However, expenses in October are higher by CZK 9bn than revenues, thus the overall surplus in the balance of the budget declined. In the last two months of the year, mainly in December, expenses are expected to significantly outweigh income, so for the year, this will push the budget into a deficit. The yearly deficit should however be lower than the forecast CZK 91.3bn on the back of higher tax revenues. The Minister of Finance stated in October that he estimates the deficit in the budget will be CZK 10bn better than indicated in the plan.
