• Slovakian GDP grew by 9.4% y/y in 3Q07, while a growth of 8.6% had been expected. In the previous quarter, Slovakian economy also grew by 9,4 %.
• Starting from next year, CNB will publish data regarding voting of individual members of the Bank Board on interest rates to increase its openness and transparency.
• Japanese GDP grew by 0.6% q/q in 3Q07 and slightly exceeded expectations. The Japanese economy declined by 0.4% in the previous quarter.
• Consumers prices index in Hungary increased by 6.7% y/y in October, while core inflation reached 4.4%.
• According to IMF, the European economy is more resistant against financial markets swings than the US economy. European real estate market is at less risk than in the USA. However, the IMF points out that European banking sector needs to improve risk management.
