Czech President Vaclav Klaus on Thursday appointed current Czech National Bank (CNB) board member Mojmir Hampl as vice-governor, replacing Ludek Niedermayer, whose second six-year mandate expires next week, and appointed private-sector banker Eva Zamrazilova to the seven-member CNB board.
"President Vaclav Klaus today named Mojmir Hampal as CNB vice-governor and Eva Zamrazilova as chief executive director [one of four] and board member, effective March 1," CNB spokesperson Pavlina Bolfova said in a statement. "The mandate of vice-governor Ludek Niedermayer expires on February 26."
CNB board members are limited to two six-year terms in office.
Hampl was appointed a member of the CNB Bank Board on December 1, 2006.
