Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla said on Saturday that the Cabinet will review Unipetrol privatization contracts signed with Agrofert, the Unipetrol privatization winner, and that the government could cancel the privatization if the contracts are unfulfilled (MFDnes).
Separately, Agrofert has said that the participation of PKN Orlen in Unipetrol privatization should be discussed with the Cabinet. Agrofert also said that PKN Orlen is interested in a wider spectrum of activities in Unipetrol compared with Conoco, recently believed to be Agrofert’s main privatization partner. Industry Minister Jiri Rusnok said that he does not know how a company that did not participate in the Unipetrol tender - i.e., PKN Orlen - could stand to buy the company.
Separately, Minister Rusnok will meet representatives of Unipetrol, IOC, and Ceska rafinerska to discuss the contentious issue of feedstock prices in the holding.
