The Czech market closed lower as global markets slipped on disappointing earnings and a rise in oil prices. The CME closed 2.8% lower on a closing of the negative arbitrage gap with the closing level in the US. However, locals were net buyers of stocks at the current levels. Other blue chips were initially sold off at the open but it was mostly retail sellers who were behind the selling. Unipetrol traded higher on the PKN restructuring plans and comments. Zentiva was lifted toward the end of trading as the lock-up period for a 20% stake held by Warburg Pincus approaches.
