Russian business daily Vedomosti reports that Gazprom is still eying gas assets in Hungary. An analyst at Gazprom told the newspaper that the Russian company was primarily interested in buying of transmission assets of MOL. However, a recent ruling of the EC, which did not let MOL sell these assets, put this intention to hold. According to Vedomosti, MOL would not mind seeing Gazprom as an investor but it now should agree with E.On on the potential sale of other gas related assets. The newspaper also noted that Gazprom, as a partner of MOL in the Pannrusgas JV, is yet to approve the sale of MOL's stake in the company to E.On. Although it is very likely to happen, this card could be played by the Russian company when trying to convince MOL and E.On to allow more room for it to participate in Hungary's gas business. We believe this news is neutral for Mol's share price.
