CTK reported yesterday that the Czech Telecommunication Office may stop regulating CT as of next year, citing the CTU chairman, David Stadnik. Nevertheless, in line with the new telecommunication law, regulation of the telecommunications market would be based on market studies and the competitive environment. CTU is to prepare a study of market competition by the end of February 2006. At the same time Stadnik said that CT should reduce its price for internet dial-up following CTU’s ruling at the end of April lowering internet interconnection fees. However, CT claims that its new tariff, applying from June, already reflects the reduced interconnection fees.
