CEZ said it submitted a preliminary bid by yesterday’s deadline for a minority stake in Polish power producer Dolna Odra. CEZ is bidding for at least a 10% stake in the power utility and is competing with another eight companies. The coal-fired Dolna Odra is a group of three power plants with a total installed capacity of 1,950 MWh and is the fifth-largest electricity producer in the country. The bid is in line with the CEZ management strategy of expanding in Central and Eastern Europe by acquiring electricity producers and distributors. The company has already bought assets in Bulgaria and Romania. Neutral Source: Bloomberg
