The leading Social Democrats (CSSD)will be holding a party congress on March 25-27 where new party leaders will be elected. The second coalition party, the Christian Democrats (KDU), have called for the Prime Minister to resign otherwise they would leave the cabinet. Therefore,
(I) Should the CSSD choose not to recall the PM, the KDU would leave the cabinet. In this case, the CSSD would have to rely on support of the Communist Party, which is not acceptable to some CSSD members, who would resign, leading most probably to early elections.
(II) Should the CSSD remove the PM, this would automatically trigger the fall of the cabinet. A new cabinet would be probably formed quite fast (3-4 weeks) with the same coalition parties.
