The second coalition party, KDU (the Christian Democrats), said on Saturday that they still require the prime minister to be removed from his position at the CSSD (the Social Democrats) party congress on March 25-27, otherwise they will start negotiations on the possibility of arranging early elections as soon as possible. KDU said that they would be willing to form a new Cabinet with the same coalition parties but under a new prime minister. The Social Democrats have strongly backed the PM so far. The direct implication for Cesky Telecom’s privatization could be a postponement of the Cabinet decision on the tender winner (early April). Implications for the other Czech blue chips are rather limited.
