The Industry Ministry will propose a plan to help CEZ to control Severoceske doly (SD), the largest domestic coal mines in order to ensure long-term stable coal supply. The Industry Ministry should prepare a plan on the privatization of the state’s 55% stake in SD by the end of February. Total costs may reach up to CZK 10bn (CZK 17 per CEZ’s share), subject to the size of CEZ’s control, according to Deputy Industry Ministry, Martin Pecine. Note that CEZ holds a 37% stake in SD.
