Average monthly wages in the Czech economy stood at CZK 14,204 in the Q1 2002, which is 7.0% up, year-on-year. As average inflation rate amounted 3.7%, real wages grew by 3.2%. The figures were slightly lower than forecasts and confirmed that wage inflation is not a problem for the Czech economy today. The average wages in the business sector went up 7.2% to CZK 14,749. In the non-business sphere wages rose 6.5% to CZK 12,047.
