The PX-50 index gained 1.09% to 779.2 points on Friday. Komecni banka gained over 4%, recovering its steep fall from Thursday. Also, the absence of any selling in Zentiva helped the stock to gain almost 4% on the day and to touch an all time high. The rest of the market traded higher in sympathy. This week, Czech blue chips are due to report their H1 2004 results, beginning with Unipetrol subsidiaries' earnings tomorrow, followed by Komercni banka and Cesky Telecom on Thursday and the others on Friday. Erste Bank will report its consolidated results on August 17. For our projections and comments see the attached pdf file. Today we expect a light start of the week with a lower opening given the weakness on the US markets. Volume in the SPAD reached USD 40.9m on Friday.
