The Finance Minister B. Sobotka reiterated yesterday that the government has no imminent plans to float the 16% stake in CEZ (the state owns 67%); the floating issue should be decided in the following months. Source: Bloomberg
Separately, CEZ will consider acquisitions in Romania (two regional power distributors are to be privatized soon) and Macedonia, the Industry Minister M. Urban said yesterday to Bloomberg. Note that the company is already taking part in privatizations in Slovakia (power generation) and Bulgaria (distribution) and that other unspecified acquisition targets in Poland and Hungary have already been mentioned by the company. This regional expansion is strongly supported by the government.
