The IT Ministry said yesterday that the state will not pay CZK 3bn to Cesky Telecom to cover its losses from the obligatory provision of universal services (e.g. discounts for disabled people, operating public payphones, etc.). The ministry said that CT's request is unjustified.

Note that CT has also initiated legal proceedings against the regulator, CTU, for the same reason. We saw the possibility of collecting the disputed payment for the universal services as an unlikely upside; the stock should not react.
