The Cabinet will discuss plans for selling its 51% stake in Cesky Telecom tomorrow. A document submitted by the Finance Ministry indicates that the tender for a privatization adviser should start in January and the adviser should be selected by mid-July. The adviser will draft a detailed timetable and an optimal method for the sale. In line with indications, the sale of the state's stake is scheduled to start this year and be finished by the end of 2005. Bloomberg.
Recall that TDC of Denmark and the Czech financial group PPF have expressed interest in the 51% stake. Swisscom, a former minority shareholder, is also reportedly a potential bidder.
