As of January 5, 2004, the PX-50 index will newly consist of 16 titles (up from 15). SM Energetika, a regional electricity distributor, is the highest-weighted stock (1.5%) to be included. Conversely, three other domestic regional electricity distributors will be removed. Their combined weighting is approx. 3% (CEZ recently acquired vast majority stakes in them).
More importantly, the weighting of Cesky Telecom, based on December 30 closing prices, will rise by 6% to almost 20%. The weightings of Erste Bank, Komercni banka, and CEZ in the base will decline by approx. 1-3%.
