TelSource sold its 27% stake in Cesky Telecom (CT) for CZK 255 per share, i.e., approx.CZK 22bn, Reuters reported this morning. Demand for TelSource’s 27% of Cesky Telecom shares exceeded supply, TelSource spokesman Joe Cook told the Czech Press Agency yesterday.
Separately, the Czech Anti-Monopoly Office (AMO) is investigating Cesky Telecom for suspicion of a possible misuse of CT's dominant position on the domestic fixed-line market. The AMO claims that the free minutes that CT offers within monthly flat programs may be hindering competition on the telecommunication market. The news is neutral at the moment until AMO´s final decision is announced.
