As expected, the lower house of Parliament yesterday approved a decrease in the corporate-income-tax rate from the current 31% to 28% next year and to 24% by 2006. The bill is a component of the government's effort to reform public finances.
Separately, the lower house of Parliament is scheduled to discuss the 2004 state budget draft in a final reading today; it is largely expected to be approved.
