The PX-50 index posted a robust gain yesterday, rising 1.50% to 562.3 points, as the market responded to better-than-expected H1 earnings published by Cesky Telecom and its mobile subsidiary, Eurotel, and by the unscheduled and positive H1 earnings reported by Philip Morris CR. Expectations for further H1 blue-chip earnings reports due today are also positive. Cesky Telecom rose 4.11% on the report of its earnings, trading intraday as high as CZK 290. Komercni banka continues to approach the CZK 2,100 level and CEZ is likely to test CZK 120 again; both stocks closed higher yesterday. Volume in SPAD trading system reached USD 18.93 mil. yesterday.
