The PX-50 index lost 1.82% to 491.5 points yesterday amid much profit taking in its largest sessional decline in 2003. Cesky Telecom led the losers amid massive foreign selling and a broker’s downgrade. Philip Morris CR recorded a 8% decline as it traded ex-dividend. CEZ slid to the CZK 97.50 level on mixed selling (it had traded at CZK 100.50 on Wednesday). Erste Bank was up 3% at one point in the afternoon yesterday on strong foreign demand, but finally closed up 1.3% at 2,168. Volume in the SPAD system reached USD 28.1, above average.
