Cesky Telecom: The MFDnes newspaper reports today that a short-list of candidates for the CEO position at Cesky Telecom should be completed by the first half of March, but that a CEO shall not be appointed until after the company’s AGM in June.
This is not encouraging since this situation could lower the flexibility of the company, we believe (for instance, further tariff optimization is unlikely to take place before a new CEO is appointed).
Separately, Cesky Telecom confirmed yesterday that it will provide services for local and international telco operators, large corporations, and Internet service providers in Slovakia. Cesky Telecom is building an international optical network with access points in countries bordering the Czech Republic (in addition to Bratislava, the company will be opening branches in Vienna and Frankfurt during the first half of this year). We consider the news neutral at present until some indication of the revenue and profit -generation potential of the expansion is provided.
