Prime Minister, Jiri Paroubek said at a meeting with students that the state should reduce its stake in CEZ to 51%; i.e. to maintain state’s majority control. Regarding the electricity prices, Paroubek said that the state may reach “some”, nevertheless, full agreement cannot be reached due to minority shareholders and potential lawsuits. We believe that there is no political consensus regarding the privatization of partial privatization of CEZ and no decision will be reached before the election scheduled for June 2006. We do see the news as neutral and should not have any impact on CEZ’s trading.
