According to HN daily, Benzina (100% owned by Unipetrol) acquired 19 Paramo’s gas station to top its number to 327. Unipetrol controls 73.5% stake in Paramo which specializes in refinery and asphalt products. This acquisition is in line with Unipetrol’s restructuring focused on in increasing efficiency of gas retail. There is a possibility that Unipetrol prepares Paramo’s sell off like earlier announced spin off of Spolana and Kaucuk. Furthermore there are rumors that Unipetrol may step off from the planned sale of 1/3 of gas stations to ConocoPhillips and thus not loose its dominant position on the gas station market. We see this news positively in a light of Unipetrol’s consolidation.
