The PX-50 index rose again as the brighter prospects of the global economy continued to buoy investor sentiment. Komercni banka added 1.2%, and intra-day traded as high as CZK 1,417 per share. The volume in Komercni was once again heavy, exceeding USD 17 mil. Cesky Telecom was also in the spotlight with some strong foreign interest on the buy side. CEZ’s 2001 IAS results and the CEO’s comments did not lead to major volatility or volume. Total market volume reached USD 32.3 mil. Today, the market will likely head higher, though we are becoming increasingly cautious about a possible correction in both banking names.
