CEZ should release its IAS 2001 consolidated results today at 4 p.m. CET. A press conference is to be held on Monday. We forecast net income of CZK 10.41 bil.; Reuters’ consensus is CZK 10.48 bil. (See the attached file for more detailed forecasts and a comment.)
Separately, the Cabinet yesterday did not discuss the privatization of coal-mining companies, despite earlier-in-the-week reports otherwise (it was reported on Monday that CEZ could acquire the state’s stakes in Severoceske doly (55%) and Sokolovska uhelna (46%)). The Czech daily MFDnes newspaper reports today that the Ministry of Industry proposes an MBO at both companies. Neutral.
