The status of Cesky Telecom stock held by TelSource (27% of total CT stock) will change, as of February 22, from registered to bearer stock, i.e., it will assume the same status as the rest of CT stock. The total number of CT shares (322 mil.) will not change. The conversion has been made necessary by the current privatization of CT, and does not represent anything that should affect the stock price. Source: CTK, PSE.
Also, the Czech Anti-Monopoly Office has rejected an appeal by GTS of the government’s decision in March 2001 to award a major contract (a public administration communication network) to Cesky Telecom without a tender. Slightly positive for CT, but we do not expect an impact on the stock price. Source: CTK.
