The Czech market closed slightly down on Friday, as the PX 50 index lost 0.69% to 390.1 points. Overall trading was quiet and the volume (USD 6.54 mil.) was well below average. Friday's deadline for binding bids in the privatization of CEZ and six distributors led to a strong demand in CEZ stock, mainly from domestic investors, though a foreign seller was still present. CEZ was indeed the most active stock and rose 0.81% to CZK 77.3. Komercni banka lost 1.6% on the day, to CZK 986, after a morning sell-off.
