The Opposition’s effort to change the commercial code so that the privatization investor has to offer a share buy-out to minority shareholders was unsuccessful, with the parliament voting against the proposal. This (1) eliminates fears of possible lower privatization price majority premiums, (2) raises concerns about discrimination against minority shareholders, and (3) eliminates fears of the negative impact on the PSE.
