The PX-50 index gained 0.86% to 328 points on Monday. In terms of trading volume, Philip Morris CR (formerly Tabak) was the most traded stock yesterday as the market continues to speculate about a possible buy-back of the company’s stock (which the company denied yesterday). Cesky Telecom traded in a narrow range of CZK 198–206, having both strong sell and buy sides. Other names traded with no particular interest and with low volume. Total market volume reached USD 7.63 mil. on Monday. For today, we are likely to see stronger share prices after yesterday’s strong closes in the US; we believe this trend might last for the next couple of days. Cesky Telecom and perhaps Czech banks are most likely to benefit.
