Representatives of Austrian industry have sharply rejected the activities of some Austrian politicians who speak of tactically blocking the Czech Republic’s entry into the EU due to CEZ’s Temelin nuclear power plant. Slightly positive, but the stock has become rather insensitive to foreign support or opposition to the plant.
Also, MFDnes newspaper carries a report today that the European Parliament will vote on an anti-Temelin declaration put forward by Austrian representatives. It is not clear how strong the anti-Temelin opposition in the European Parliament is, nor the consequences of such a parliamentary declaration. Czech representatives say that, if the declaration were approved, it would only give the Austrians a “European” argument against the plant, and little else. Neutral at the moment.
