Cabinet is expected to make a decision on a Unipetrol privatization advisor at its regular meeting today. An advisor selection tender was canceled at the beginning of May, and the Cabinet may appoint HSBC as a privatization “assistant” instead. According to a Reuters’ report yesterday, the finance minister will propose that a tender for the sale of the state’s stake be launched by the end of July. The market is looking for a clear privatization strategy from the government; past delays and uncertainty have contributed to the stock’s weakness, and a conclusive decision by Cabinet today may help the stock a little bit.
