If we had any doubts about all those young, trendy and so conscious anti-globalization protesters, they were smashed yesterday as violent riots broke out in Prague. Although there were less than 10,000 demonstrators they knew what they were doing, they were organized and they did as much damage as they could. More than 50 police officers were injured, about 20 by-standers attacked by the mob, windows in the center smashed and barricades set on fire. There were almost no changes to the koruna yesterday and only a few trades. The koruna remained just below 35.50 CZK/EUR. It did gain 40 hallers , though, vis-a-vis the dollar to 40.20 CZK/USD.
Bond market was quiet, yields move up slightly by 5-10 bps.
