Ceske radiokomunikace’s AGM did not generate any new information yesterday. Shareholders decided that all 1999 profits will be reinvested (the market did not expect a dividend). We did not expect any major progress in the issue of accelerated compensation by CMobil to Ceske radiokomunikace (for the latter’s dilution in RadioMobil cellular operator), and there was none. CEO Curin said only that CR is negotiating with CMobil toward the payment of the USD 550 mil. compensation as early as possible, which does not represent new information. The government wants to have the issue of compensation sorted out before it sells its 51% stake in CR, which it hopes to do by the end of September.
CEZ: CEZ will hold its AGM on Tuesday, July 4. Major changes at the supervisory board and board of directors are expected, though it is not clear at all what they will be; the decision, which is largely politically motivated, may be a last-minute affair. A new BoD would then name a new CEO. Stanislav Svoboda, the previous CEO, was replaced earlier this year. Petr Voboril, the acting CEO, is a hot candidate for the position.
