as an example of a step taken by the
Zeman cabinet that - despite the pro-European rhetoric - has a tendency to
move the CR away from the EU. This law
will essentially decide the extent of the
CR's EU integration efforts, he said. The
EU wants the telecoms law to be as liberal
as possible, he added, yet the cabinet's
proposed version is a big trick for avoiding
liberalization and maintaining a monopoly.

Czech companies welcome the idea of EU
integration, only 8% of them have taken
significant preparatory steps toward it.
