The October deficit in the current account reached CZK 9.2bn - i.e. practically the same value as the previous month. More significant changes in the negative balance were not recorded. Paid out dividends and reinvested profits contributed in the same proportion to this negative balance. The deficit in the current account is completely due to the balance of income. Its deficit reached CZK 13bn. Profit repatriation added CZK 6.4bn, reinvestments according to CNB estimates reached CZK 6.8bn. For the whole year of 2005, we expect the current account deficit to come in at CZK 75bn, i.e. approximately half of last year's negative balance. In relation to GDP, the current account deficit should diminish to 2.6% from last year 5.3%.
