Czech equities continued growing on Tuesday (the last trading day in 2003), the PX-50 index rose by 0.3 % to 659.1 points; in 2003, the index rose by 43% and 65% in CZK and USD, respectively. Philip Morris CR was the most traded stock yesterday (USD 10.6m) and it gained more than 2% closing the year at CZK 15,728, its all time high. Another major gainer was Cesky Telecom, which closed the day stronger by 1.7% above the CZK 291 level. Erste Bank was the only loser among domestic blue chips, down 0.6%. Trading in Komercni banka was rather quiet, the stock closed almost unchanged at CZK 2,418.
Note that the Prague Stock Exchange is closed today and on January 1-2, 2004. Trading then resumes on January 5, 2004.
