The Czech Foreign Minister Jan Kavan has warned that the Austrian petition against the Temelin nuclear power plant could damage bilateral relations.
The Temelin nuclear power plant renewed testing operations on Saturday following a few hours of emergency repair work.
The Czech Finance Ministry will deposit CZK 25 bn koruna (USD 693 mil) at the central bank to help cover losses the bank may incur under a plan to weaken the koruna, whose strength may hurt exporters and the economy. The deposit is key to a plan to convert about EUR 4 bn euros (USD 3.6 bn) in asset-sale revenue into koruna directly at the central bank, avoiding currency markets. That will boost the bank's foreign currency holdings, causing losses as euro deposit yields are 2 percentage points lower than similar koruna deposits.
Alan, Greenspan, FED chairman, said that American economy is beginning to stabilize and recovery from the recession. However, potential risks are still very high in the short term.
