The PX-50 index gained 2.15% to 427.70 points on Tuesday, as both local as well as international investors seemed to have decided that the market is past its bottom, and equities followed the US and major European markets. Cesky Telecom was the top gainer, adding 3.82% to 344.90 (intra-day high 348,60). Demand for the stock originated from abroad, and locals began lifting the stock later in the afternoon. Ceske radio gained 2.47%, to CZK 580.10, as the Czech government’s sale of the company to a TDC/Deutsche Bank consortium seems more likely; Cabinet may decide on the sale as early as Monday, May 28. Total market volume reached USD 15.35 mil. on Tuesday.
