The PX-50 index gained 1.23%, to 410.80 points, on Monday (Tuesday was a public holiday in the Czech Republic). Demand for Cesky Telecom led the stock up 1.93%, to 347.90; its intra-day high was CZK 350, where resistance became apparent. Komercni added 1.87%, to CZK 966, as the deadline for the submission of binding bids nears (May 11). Other stocks traded quietly with little interest from domestic or international investors. Total trading volume reached USD 6.6 mil. on Monday. It is expected that trading in Prague will follow major European bourses upon opening today; Cesky Telecom is not likely to trade beyond CZK 350.
