The PX50 Index lost 0.50% to 497.40 points. Ceske radiokomunikace was in the spotlight throughout the day, after a local newspaper report on a possible split of the company and a lack of interest in the state’s 51% stake that is being sold. The stock slumped as low as CZK 1,262 but climbed back in the final trading hour to close at CZK 1,311 (see below). More than 154,183 shares changed hands in Ceske radiokomunikace. Komercni banka had a local seller, lost 0.98% and traded as low as CZK 991. Cesky Telecom closed unchanged at CZK 519.40. Total market volume reached USD 14.60 mil. We believe the market will trade stronger today, Cesky Telecom in particular, in anticipation of an US rate cut; an announcement on that is today at 20:15 CET.
