Unipetrol yesterday released its 9M CAS consolidated figures. The consolidated figures were slightly better than our forecasts, mainly due to the higher consolidated sales. Net income stood at CZK 2.9 bil., vs. our forecast of CZK 2.8 bil. It was possible to approximate the consolidated figures based on subsidiary figures released two weeks ago; the results released today had little power to surprise.
CZK 9M 2000 9M 1999
Sales 53.6 bil. vs. 36.2 bil.
EBITDA 6.6 bil. vs. 4.5 bil.
EBIT 4.4 bil. vs. 2.5 bil.
Net income 2.9 bil. vs. 1.8 bil.
Separately, the administrator of the bankruptcy proceedings of the Chemapol Group announced that he had yesterday signed a agreement whereby a 49.25% stake in Aliachem, a troubled holding of chemical companies, will be sold to Agrobohemia, 50% owned by Unipetrol. The fact that Unipetrol will buy the Aliachem stake was known for some time; the signing of the agreement represents no real news.
