Skoda Holding held a press conference yesterday regarding its H1 2000 figures and the company’s restructuring process. Skoda Holding is a new entity (founded in restructuring plan), in which the listed Skoda Plzen owns a 51.4% stake due to the recent debt / equity swap. The remaining stake is held by the government-sponsored Revitalization Agency. Skoda Holding posted relatively good H1 results: revenues stood at CZK 7.1 bil., EBIT was CZK 243 mil., and pretax was CZK 28 mil. For full-year 2000 Skoda Holding expects revenues of CZK 17.5 bil, EBIT of CZK 538 mil. and pretax of CZK 52 mil. This is the first set of company figures ever released so a comparison is not possible. Subsequently, another debt / equity swap is planned, which should further reduce Skoda Plzen’s stake in Skoda Holding to less than 34%.
