The finance ministry reported an April budget deficit at HUF 115 bn (without local government deficit), 27.7% below the ministry’s earlier forecast of HUF 159.2 bn. The accumulated deficit of the first four months takes HUF 904.2bn or 58.5% of the annual target according to business daily Magyar Hírlap. The daily also speculates that the government might try to book the sale price of its 10% MOL stake, sold to the company yesterday, in the budget. We see the news as neutral.
