The three centre-right political parties including the election’s winner ODS (Civic Democrats), KDU (Christian Democrats) and the Greens continued to on the formation of the new Government. We remind that, however, the new Governemt needs to win a vote of confidence by 101 MP while it has only 100. The CSSD (Social Democrats) said that they will not support the centre-right Government in the first round (there are three rounds to form a new Government before new elections are called), nevertheless, its leader Jiri Paroubek, arranged a meeting with ODS’s leader Mirek Topolanek to discuss the current political deadlock. Paroubek said that he expects the new Government to be formed by August. While both, ODS and CSSD are currently ruling out a grad-coalition, we believe, that as it was in the past, ODS and CSSD will eventually make some agreements/concessions and that both parties will try to avoid new elections.
