The leader of the election winner ODS (Civic democrats) informed the president that a coalition agreement between the centre-right parties (KDU-CSL – Christian democrats and SZ – the Greens) will be signed in two weeks. The new Government needs 101 votes to win a vote of confidence in The Parliament, but the new coalition has only 100 votes. The ODS leader wants to continue negotiating with the opposing Social democratic party (CSSD) as well. We believe that eventually, which may not be in the first round of the confidence vote, that either the centre-right coalition will be tolerated by the left-wing CSSD or a grand coalition ODS – CSSD will be formed. The third possibility is new elections, which we see as the least likely.
