After regular shut down of 2nd block of NPP Temelín last weekend, CEZ was forced to unexpectedly shut it down again as there was a leak in the air system. The estimated time for repair is not known at the moment. NPP Temelin’s 1st block is disconnected for refuelling and turbine upgrade since June.
We see the news slightly negative as the unplanned shut down is only shortly after regular one and electricity demand is high this time of the year. Unplanned shutdowns have negative impact on CEZ’s margins. We estimate that one day of one Temelin’s block shutdown leads to extra costs of CZK12.5m/day or EUR0.4m/day.
