The three parties centre-right coalition, ODS, the Greens and the Christian Democrats (KDU) dissolved while the Greens and KDU support early elections. ODS’s leader Mirek Topolanek was given a final week to make an agreement with CSSD’s leader Jiri Paroubek. ODS is willing to negotiate two options including a minority ODS Government supported by all parties expect for the Communists and a Government, which would prepare the country for new elections. On the other hand, CSSD refused a minority Government of ODS and supports a technocratic Government with ‘experts’ from CSSD.
Our view:
We continue to see two ways out of the deadlock, (i) agreement between CSSD and ODS or early elections, which probability is rising.
